More than work, it’s a passion

Over the past 6 years, we have filled our circle map. If we decided to visit every country of all the couples we have worked with, we would travel around the world, though it might take a bit more than 80 days.

Wedding planning isn’t a day trip; it’s a long journey that must be meticulously planned down to the last detail, living each moment with excitement and anticipation. Our primary goal is for you to enjoy a stress-free wedding. We are here to help you achieve that.

If I had to choose what to do in another life, I would still be a wedding planner. I am incredibly fortunate to dedicate my life to making couples happy organizing their weddings.

Marián Herrero

Passion for travel, meeting new people, seeing different cultures, and visiting as many countries as possible has made event planning my way of life, personality, and experience.

This continued unrest has allowed me to experience and enjoy many countries, such as France, Wales, Germany, Italy, the Dominican Republic. I had terrific jobs at each place, but the one I hold dearest was my job on the MS Vistamar. I got to navigate the Amazon and visited breathtaking places, such as Antarctica… Is there anything more awe-inspiring than watching penguins in their natural habitat?

Why a Destination Wedding Planner? I have organized, planned, and brought hundreds of musical, cultural, and business events to life. As time passed, I started to realize the difficulties non-national couples encountered when marrying in Spain. Many had little knowledge of our traditions or culture. There were often language barriers, with few contacts here and unreliable information. These situations were reminiscent of the times I had landed in a new country, full of excitement and bewilderment at the same time. Sometimes it would have been nice to have had someone guide me through the adaptation process. Your Wedding in Spain, coupled with my choice to dedicate and invest all of my energy and enthusiasm to further connect with the world, was born from this feeling. It is my way of repaying what travel has given me so far.

As you can imagine, it was the right decision. I am lucky to have a job that makes me happy. I have to admit it can be stressful at times, but I enjoy pushing myself, going all out, and giving it my best. Planning, organizing, and managing weddings is how I pass the confidence I received to the brides and grooms. Making their wedding day an unforgettable experience is my motto, which is why Your Wedding in Spain designs custom weddings, inspired by each couple.

My degree in tourism has only made me want to travel more and continue perfecting the languages I speak, English, French, German, and Italian. Each trip and experience has made me the person I am today. Specializing in destination weddings makes me extremely happy. Planning each wedding as if it were my own, as if my family was going to share in the experience, motivates me to give 200% of myself.

Each wedding is an adventure to be met with all of the energy in the world. I appreciate clients trusting in me and approving my design ideas. I also enjoy working with their ideas, allowing everything to slip perfectly into place.

If I had to choose what to do in another life, I would still be a wedding planner. I am incredibly fortunate to dedicate my life to making couples happy organizing their weddings.

Marián Herrero

Lawyer and Estate Manager, an expert in Labor Law, Social Security, and Work Management; he is in charge of project management and responsible for proposals and oversight of executing each stage in every project. In other words, he coordinates the team’s work to reach our objectives.

After years of working for the State Administration, managing different companies, and practicing in the Justice Courts, what started as a small consulting gig regarding labor, financial, and fiscal issues, slowly transformed into growing interest for event planning and organization. He says it himself, he’s “drawn to the Dark Side of the Force.”

Why an event company? Why weddings? Outside the day-to-day avatars from a legal, accounting, fiscal, or financial perspective at any company, many people are not aware of the complexities behind the scenes in event planning. It could be anything: supplier contracts, price adjustment, timelines, budgets, negotiation hours, design, creation, set-up, and transporting people or materials. No process is ever identical. The setting always changes, different cities or sites, and vendors often change, coupled with the added complexities when coordinating everything in multiple languages.

For someone with this professional profile, restless, motivated, and hungry for new challenges, handling a new project each week was an adventure he couldn’t resist.

Once inside the event planning world, he was immediately drawn to Destination Weddings. These events require added commitment and implication, and considerable effort in providing peace of mind to the protagonists, the couple, who are hundreds or thousands of miles from home, with a job well done. Organizing the logistics of 200 people from different parts of the world, coming to experience a significant life event, is a great responsibility. It would motivate any professional to give it her/his all. That is the why for Destination Weddings.
